As you may be able to tell this is an offering in the witbier style of Belgian brews. The straw-colored cloudy appearance is a dead giveaway. Though Sierra Nevada does designate this as a "white IPA".
So i tried judging it for both styles, witbier and IPA.
There was the fruitiness and spice you would expect from a witbier. And there was the prickly sensation you expect from the fact it's a wheat based brew. But the fruit was definitely more subdued than you would expect from an IPA, especially from a Western brewer like Sierra Nevada.
It was more hoppy than most witbiers which I suppose is a nod to the IPA moniker.
Overall it is a tasty, refreshing and drinkable beer. But not sure I'm sold on the hybrid characteristics. I love Belgian witbiers and I especially love IPA's. This beer was interesting but doesn't measure up to either style and so ends up being less appealing than either.
Still I'll give Snow Wit 6 mugs out of 10.
